Dorrie is a nutritionist who supports cooking with local, organic whole foods for clients and in cooking classes. When empowered with the knowledge of making wise food choices clients obtain a healthy relationship with food.

When the farmer's markets open throughout the Pacific Northwest Dorrie offers classes in canning, preserving, pickling, and dehydrating. The "Farm to Table" movement has many people eating more local foods and this started a renewed interest in preserving the harvest in preparation for winter.

Dorrie teaches and educates others how food is a remedy to obtain the best possible health.

The summer of 2010 as adjunct faculty for Bastyr University she spent a week at Quillisascut Farm in Rice, WA with students and the farm owners. It was an awesome experience to be on a full working and substainable farm. She learned how to milk goats, make mozzarella and chevre cheese. She am looking forward to summer of 2011 at Quillisacut Farm.
